About

I am a self-taught artist and trained teacher and taught painting in Stranmillis University College for seven years.
I tutor in community settings and demonstrate as a guest tutor for painting groups. I have always been inspired by nature and find landscape and the richness of colour a balm to the soul.
I see beauty in many different subjects and am drawn to strong colour and contrasts of light and dark. I have a condition called synaesthesia, which is the mixing of senses – I see numbers, letters and names in a specific colour, and I see shapes when I listen to music.
*My recent works include a little clock hand hidden in the painting. This is a tribute to my late loving husband, Nevin, who was a watchmaker. This acts as a reminder of how precious our time on earth is.
